Best $5K Crypto Prop Firm Challenges (2026): Cheapest First
A $5K account is the cheapest way to learn a firm's rules with real stakes. Here is what it costs and how much room it gives you.
Your prop firm account size decides three things at once: the fee you pay, the dollars you can lose before a breach, and what a good month pays out. Picking it well matters more than picking the cheapest firm. Each page below lists every crypto challenge we track at that size, cheapest first.
How to pick a prop firm account size
Start with the fee you can afford to lose, not the payout you hope for. Most traders fail their first attempt, so the right size is one you could buy twice.
Then check the daily limit in dollars. A 3% daily limit is $300 on $10K and $3,000 on $100K. If your normal losing day is $400, a $10K account with 3% will not survive it, whatever your skill.
Finally, keep your risk per trade the same in percentage terms as you move up. Traders who passed small accounts often fail large ones because they size by gut feel and the dollars feel different. The position size calculator removes that problem.
Pass once at a smaller size before buying a larger one at a new firm. The rules feel different with real fees at stake.

One large account or several small ones
Two $100K accounts can cost about the same as one $200K, and a breach on one leaves the other running. Some firms also cap total funding per trader, so check the limit before you buy several. Scaling plans are another route: grow a smaller account through payouts instead of paying for the larger size upfront.

Frequently asked questions
What account size should I start with at a crypto prop firm?
$5K or $10K for most traders. The fee is low enough to retry, and passing teaches you the firm's rules before you risk a larger fee.
Does a bigger account make passing harder?
The percentage rules are usually the same at every size. What changes is the dollar value of each loss, which pushes many traders to break their usual risk habits.
Is one $200K account better than two $100K accounts?
Not always. The cost is often similar, and two accounts mean one breach does not end everything. Check the firm's total funding cap first.
