Among crypto prop firms USA residents can join, HyroTrader states it most plainly: its FAQ says the US and UK are not on its prohibited list. E8 Markets accepts US clients and even offers a US-only payout rail through Aeropay. Breakout does not list the United States as restricted and has the cheapest entry, $20 for a $5,000 account. In total, 18 of the 27 firms we track accept US traders in some form, but the strength of that acceptance varies a lot.
What "accepts US traders" means
A firm accepts US traders when its terms let a US resident buy an evaluation, hold a funded account and receive payouts on at least one of its platforms. We see five forms:
- Explicit statement: the firm says it accepts US residents (HyroTrader, E8 Markets).
- Silence on a published list: the US is simply absent from the restricted list (Breakout, Propr, Velotrade and others).
- Affiliated entity: US clients are served under a different contract and domain (FTMO via ftmo.oanda.com).
- Platform exception: usually MT5, after MetaQuotes began revoking access from prop firms with US-client exposure in February 2024.
- Payout or KYC limits that apply only to US clients.
"Not listed as restricted" is silence. "Accepts" is a statement. Rank firms by the strength of the words, not a yes/no.
On the regulatory side, the CFTC case against My Forex Funds' parent was dismissed with prejudice in May 2025 without ruling on how prop firms are classified. Retail prop firms remain unregulated, registered companies. Nothing here says a firm is legal in the US, only that it accepts US residents per its terms.
Crypto prop firms USA access, by tier
| Tier | Firms | What the terms say |
|---|---|---|
| Stated | HyroTrader, E8 Markets, FTMO (via affiliate) | Explicit acceptance or US-specific route |
| Not restricted | Breakout, Kraken Prop, Propr, Velotrade, SizeProp, The5ers, AquaFunded, Funded Trader Markets, Goat Funded Trader, Dolvero | US absent from restricted list or "open worldwide" |
| Partial | Crypto Fund Trader, BrightFunded, FundingPips, Mubite, RebelsFunding | Some platforms or stages only |
| Excluded | Fundedbit, HyperPNL, Upscale, PropW | US named as restricted |
Firm notes
HyroTrader. Trades your own Bybit or BloFin demo account via API, or the Hyro platform with nothing to connect. The caveat: a Bybit or BloFin challenge also follows that exchange's own regional rules, and the Tealstreet and Tiger terminals are closed to US traders. The Hyro platform avoids that. It also offers static drawdown up to 10% and on-demand payouts within 24 hours. See the HyroTrader review.
E8 Markets. E8 Funding LLC operates under Texas law. Aeropay is a US-only payout option beside Rise and bank. KYC via Veriff happens before purchase. See the E8 Markets review.
Breakout and Kraken Prop. Both run the same programme. Breakout's terms list 24 restricted countries without the US, though its documents disagree on the exact count. Kraken Prop names Canada, India and the UK as unavailable, not the US. Breakout pays USDC on Ethereum only, so you need a self-custody wallet. See the Breakout review and Kraken Prop review.
Crypto Fund Trader. MT5 is not available to US residents; Match-Trader and Bybit are. Pick the platform carefully at checkout. See the Crypto Fund Trader review.
Partial cases. BrightFunded does not offer MT5 to US residents (noted in its footer, not its list). FundingPips bars US clients from its Prime Account. Mubite routes US residents to its Cleo platform because Bybit does not serve them. RebelsFunding accepts US residents for the simulated evaluation only where permitted by law.
Checklist for US traders
- Read the restricted list in the terms, not the homepage.
- Check which platform is US-eligible, especially if MT5 is offered.
- Check whether payouts reach US bank rails or only crypto.
- Confirm the KYC provider accepts your documents: SumSub at Breakout, Veriff at E8 Markets, Kraken's own at Kraken Prop. See our KYC guide.
- Check the contracting entity; FTMO's US clients sign with an affiliate.
- Watch our changes log for access changes.
Who excludes the US
Fundedbit lists the US with OFAC-sanctioned countries. HyperPNL excludes the US and its territories plus Canada. Upscale excludes US residents in its 15 May 2026 terms despite advertising no geographic restrictions. PropW names the US alongside mainland China and others. Bitfunded, Klein Funding, WenCrypto, Cointracts and TradeXProp publish no country rule, which we record as unknown.
Trade-offs
The firms with the clearest US statements are not always the cheapest; Breakout's silence-based access comes with the lowest price but a single Ethereum payout rail. If certainty about access matters more than price, start with HyroTrader or E8 Markets. Other countries are on the country access page, and the full ranking is on the best crypto prop firms.
