The consistency rule calculator above checks one thing: whether your single best day takes up more of your profit than the firm allows. Paste your daily results, pick a firm, and it returns your best-day share, a pass or fail, and the extra profit needed to bring the share under the cap. Presets cover 29 rules at 16 crypto prop firms.
How to use the consistency rule calculator
- Pick a preset. It loads the cap percentage and what the cap is measured against.
- Confirm the basis. Firms divide the best day by one of three figures: total net profit (losing days included), the sum of winning days only, or the profit target.
- Paste your daily P&L, one figure per row, writing losing days with a minus sign. You can copy a column straight from a dashboard export or journal.
- Read the share, the verdict and the shortfall. The shortfall is the figure to plan around.
The formula
| Output | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Best-day share | best day / basis x 100 |
| Total profit required | best day / cap % |
| Still needed | minimum total - current total |
Bases differ by firm. Total net profit is the basis at WenCrypto, Upscale, PropW, Mubite, Klein Funding and E8 One. Cointracts and Fundedbit use winning days only. HyroTrader, Dolvero and Funded Trader Markets' Nitro challenge use the profit target. Caps run from 15% at Dolvero up to 50% at Cointracts and FTMO.
On a target basis, profit above the cap on a single day simply stops counting toward the target. For HyroTrader's 40% rule, a day can contribute at most 40% of the target, and the rest stays in the account without breaking anything.
Worked example: Mubite Two-Step Funded Score
Mubite's funded Two-Step account applies a 40% cap measured against total net profit, and a breach pauses withdrawals rather than ending the account.
| Day | Result |
|---|---|
| Monday | +$900 |
| Tuesday (best day) | +$1,600 |
| Wednesday | -$300 |
| Thursday | +$700 |
| Friday | +$400 |
| Total net profit | $3,300 |
Best-day share is $1,600 / $3,300 = 48.5%, above the 40% cap. The required total is $1,600 / 0.40 = $4,000, so $700 more must come from other days, each smaller than $1,600, before the payout can be requested. Note the role of Wednesday: without the $300 loss the total would be $3,600 and the share 44%. On a net-profit basis, every losing day pushes your share higher.
What a breach costs depends on the stage. At Funded Trader Markets' Nitro challenge it fails the phase; at Mubite and Klein Funding it only delays the money.
Common mistakes
- Counting a trade across the reset as one day. The firm splits it at its own day boundary, for example Crypto Fund Trader's boundary five minutes after midnight UTC.
- Overlooking dollar profit caps. Crypto Fund Trader trims any day above $10,000 and Goat Funded Trader above $3,000 before the ratio is taken; the calculator does not model these.
- Assuming the count carries over. Mubite's Funded Score restarts after each payout.
- Pressing harder after a big day. Spreading smaller wins across more days is the fix; size up and you risk a new best day.

Frequently asked questions
What is a consistency rule at a prop firm?
A cap on how much of your total profit a single trading day may represent, such as 40%. It stops one lucky day from carrying a whole challenge or payout.
Why did a losing day make my share worse?
When the cap is measured against total net profit, a loss shrinks the denominator, so the best day becomes a larger share of what is left.
Does breaking a consistency rule fail my account?
It depends on the firm and stage. Some fail the phase, many simply hold the payout until the share falls back under the cap.
Which crypto prop firms have no consistency rule?
According to their published rules, BrightFunded, Velotrade, SizeProp, Propr, HyperPNL, Kraken Prop and Breakout have none on any plan.
