Bitfunded vs Breakout comes down to one trade-off: Breakout is cheaper and documents its payouts more cleanly, while Bitfunded hands you a roomier 2-step rulebook and a wider menu of account types. We checked both firms' terms on 27 October 2026, and on most traders' shortlists Breakout comes out ahead. Bitfunded still wins for a specific kind of trader, and this page explains who that is.
Quick verdict
Pick Breakout if price and payout clarity matter most. Its Turbo plan starts at $20 for a $5,000 account, payouts can be requested at any time from $50, and its daily loss limit resets at a published time (00:30 UTC). Pick Bitfunded if you need breathing room: its 2-step allows a 5% daily loss and a 10% overall floor in phase one, there is no inactivity rule, and you get an Instant plan and a timed Day Trader challenge on top.
Both firms say plainly that traders work on simulated capital, so neither has an edge on "real money". If you want the background on why that matters, read our explainer on simulated vs real capital.
Bitfunded vs Breakout: cost per $10K
Breakout undercuts Bitfunded at the small end by a wide margin and stays cheaper on its Turbo and Pro plans at every size. The closest like-for-like pairing is Bitfunded's 2-step against Breakout's Classic, and there the gap nearly closes at $100,000.
| Plan | $10K price | $100K price | Cost per $10K at $100K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitfunded 2-step | $99 | $799 | $79.90 |
| Bitfunded 1-step | $149 | $999 | $99.90 |
| Breakout Turbo | $40 | $330 | $33.00 |
| Breakout Pro | $65 | $545 | $54.50 |
| Breakout Classic | $85 | $800 | $80.00 |
Two things move these numbers. Bitfunded returns the 2-step fee, but its own documents disagree on when: the FAQ says with the third successful payout, the terms say with the first profit split. Breakout never refunds, and its 90% split add-on raises the checkout price by 20%. If you only plan to buy once and expect to get paid, Bitfunded's refund narrows the gap; if you expect to retry, Breakout's low sticker price wins easily.
Rules head-to-head
The rule that ends most challenges is the daily loss limit, and here the two firms split. Bitfunded publishes the bigger number; Breakout publishes how the number is measured.
- Daily limit. Bitfunded allows 5% on the 2-step, 4% on the 1-step and 3% on Instant, but it does not say whether the limit is measured from balance or equity, or when the day resets. Breakout allows 3%, recalculated from the balance at 00:30 UTC. On a $10,000 account that is $500 of daily room at Bitfunded against $300 at Breakout.
- Overall floor. Both are static from the starting balance. Bitfunded's 2-step gives 10% in phase one and 8% after; its 1-step gives 6%. Breakout gives 6% on Classic, 5% on Pro and 3% on Turbo. Our trailing vs static drawdown guide explains why a static floor is easier to manage.
- Leverage. Bitfunded caps everything at 1xβ5x. Breakout allows 10x on BTC, 5x on roughly 20 majors and 2xβ3x on smaller coins.
- Activity. Neither firm sets minimum trading days. Bitfunded has no inactivity rule; Breakout suspends a funded account after 90 days without a trade.
- Fees and holding. Both charge 0.04% per side. Bitfunded forces positions closed after a maximum holding period (10 days for majors, 7 for other coins).
The unpublished daily reset at Bitfunded is the detail to ask support about before you buy. Without it you cannot calculate where your floor sits in the middle of the night.
Breakout's simplicity is not perfect either: its leverage annex and its announcement disagree, and its restricted-country lists vary. Use the drawdown calculator with each firm's numbers before sizing your first trade.
Payouts
Breakout pays on demand, 24/7, from $50 after the split, in USDC on Ethereum only, with approval in 12β24 hours. Its payout proof is a public leaderboard rather than on-chain links. Bitfunded pays USDT up to twice per 30 days (once a month on Instant) and processes within 24 hours, but it does not name the network. You also need two closed trades of at least ten minutes per payout period, three on Instant.
Splits start at 80% at both firms (60% on Bitfunded Instant), and Breakout lets you buy 90%. Bitfunded verifies identity only once cumulative profit hits $10,000, which can interrupt a payout cycle; Breakout runs SumSub checks before the funded account. Our KYC guide covers what each step usually asks for.
On trust signals, Breakout sits in the Kraken group and names two legal entities, while Bitfunded names Tronovix LTD (UAE) in its terms only. Breakout also has the larger Trustpilot footprint at the time we checked (4.7 from 1,211 reviews against 4.3 from 206).
Platforms and access
Bitfunded runs a proprietary web platform with a mobile app. Breakout runs its own Breakout Terminal; DXtrade survives only for legacy accounts. Neither connects to an exchange account or to TradingView charts.
Breakout lists 24 restricted countries and does not include the United States. Bitfunded publishes no country policy at all, so you find out at KYC. US traders should look at our crypto prop firms for the USA list for firms that state their position clearly.
Who should pick which
Choose Bitfunded if you:
- trade a 2-step plan and need 5% daily and 10% overall room in the first phase;
- want an Instant account, a $150,000 size or the timed Day Trader challenge;
- trade in bursts with long gaps between sessions;
- are fine with USDT twice a month on an unpublished network.
Choose Breakout if you:
- want the lowest entry price, $20 for $5,000 or $330 for $100,000 on Turbo;
- want to withdraw whenever you like from $50;
- want a daily floor you can calculate to the dollar;
- can receive USDC on Ethereum and will trade at least once every 90 days.
If neither fits, read the full Bitfunded review and Breakout review, or browse the Breakout alternatives. HyroTrader refunds its fee with the first payout and publishes on-chain payout IDs, and Velotrade pays weekly on Arbitrum. Every other pairing lives on the compare hub.
